Josue Velney founded Velney Construction after serving five years in the United States Marine Corps, where he completed two combat deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and earned the Combat Action Ribbon. He later deployed aboard a U.S. Navy ship supporting maritime security operations off the Horn of Africa, where his unit helped capture 32 pirates operating off the coast of Africa. For his leadership and service during that deployment, Josue was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
Today, the values Josue developed in the Marine Corps—integrity, discipline, accountability, teamwork, and mission-focused leadership—continue to guide Velney Construction’s approach to every project.
